Freeda have taken a new direction with their latest single ‘Let Me Down’. The track starts off a new era for the band heading down a more Synth Pop route than their Indie Rock heritage. ‘Let Me Down’ is a beautiful blend of the iconic Freeda sound you expect with a touch of synth, keeping on the right side of that bland 1975 sound.

Who are you?
We are Freeda, a Indie Synth Pop band named after a grandma.

Where are you from?
We are based just outside of Manchester, in the Shire like hills of Mossley and Stalybridge.

Describe yourself in three words…
Darling we’re fabulous

What are you influences?
We draw from many different influences, one band that resonates with all of us is Peace. After that we go back as far as The Beatles and Stones.

What is the highlight of your career so far…
Our sold out headline at The Deaf Institute last November. We love playing live and seeing the reaction of the crowd.

What is the worst gig you’ve played?
Never played a bad gig. We are just that good.

If you could create your own gig who would you play with?
Peace and Foals

What’s your karaoke song?
“Play Wonderwall!!!”

What’s next for the band?
We’re hoping to get back into the studio once this lockdown lifts to record some more tracks to release over the year. We have another track we are currently sat on but not found the right time to release it.

Best three new bands…
Oceans on Mars, Larkins and Kashmere
