The sole idea in Northampton based Sarpa Salpa’s mind when writing a song is that it needs to work perfectly on an indie dancefloor, and once again they haven’t disappointed. Marcus Marooth (vocals), George Neath (guitar), Ethan Whitby (bass), Charlie Doe (drums) and latest arrival Meg Amirghiasvand (synths) have followed up previous foot-stompers with their greatest track yet, ‘Another Life’.
Discussing the track the band said “‘Another Life’ tackles the idea of being completely head over heels in love with somebody, devoting everything to them. However, despite the warning signs, you cannot bring yourself to admit that your love is unrequited, your optimism outweighing what you know – that you’ll never quite have the love you’re giving reciprocated”. ‘Another Life’ has a really funky groove to it that instantly hooks you in and has you swirling to the beat like the lyrics around swirling romance. This upbeat alt-pop banger is the first track from their upcoming EP due for release on 2nd April and it’s already got us eagerly awaiting what’s next.
