Who say’s good thinks don’t happen at 5am? Freeda certainly don’t as their latest release is a brilliantly catchy indie-pop song with the infectious sound that Freeda have moved towards in their last few releases. The band have stepped away from their original traditional guitar based sound and utilised some more experimental synth and electronic percussion to develop a new sound that seems to be working well for the band. Speaking about the the song Freeda say “‘5 AM’ lyrically draws a comparison between a busy hectic lifestyle, surrounding yourself with as many people as possible and doing things you wouldn’t normally do to battle discontentment or loneliness, and a more settled content frame of mind where you are surrounded by people you want to be around.”
