The Faux Faux have produced possibly the most unconventional of guitar driven tracks that I have heard of late with their new tune ‘Cold Hearted Woman’. A tune which repeats its hook line over and over to reinforce the really quite blunt message it wants to convey.
The Faux Faux is the new solo project from renowned PINS member and Iggy Pop collaborator Faith Vern. After success in her various musical ventures, the new found solo artist looks set to carry on in the path she left off as she releases this brilliant new piece of music.
From the very outset of ‘Cold Hearted Woman’ has this strange feeling of being like a pop track but with really moody post-punk esc guitars running through it. It’s a track which feels very unsure of itself and very confused but in the best way as it almost feels like the music is backing up exactly what the meaning of the song says.
As is to be expected, the production on this track is also absolutely phenomenal, especially on the guitar lines. They’re just sat so perfectly in place and not popping out too much where they shouldn’t be. Absolutely incredible.
It’ll be really intriguing to see where The Faux Faux goes from here, this glorious solo project which does really feel like it has potential to move on to some great things.
