Bath’s rock ‘n’ roll trio, The Family Rain, have unleashed a storming lead track, ‘Loud & Clear’, as part of their brand new EP, ‘Machete Western‘, released via Distiller Records. Produced by the renowned studio wizard Tom Dalgety, known for his work with Pixies, Royal Blood, and Rammstein, ‘Loud & Clear’ is a vibrant and anthemic sonic blast.
The Walter brothers, comprising twins Will (bass/vocals) and Tim (drums) and older brother Ollie (guitars), draw inspiration from the likes of Led Zeppelin, the Black Keys, and Queens Of The Stone Age. Their music pays homage to these influences while looking firmly toward the future.
The accompanying video for ‘Loud & Clear’ captures a seedily cinematic vibe, shot in their hometown of Somerset. The video channels the visual language of the Wim Wenders film, ‘Paris, Texas,’ with its green and red lighting, evoking a sense of isolation and madness intertwined with love.
‘Machete Western‘ reflects the Walter brothers’ expansion of their sonic palette, incorporating influences from acts like Paramore, Gorillaz, Warmduscher, and The Heavy. The EP showcases their willingness to explore new territories in their songwriting, and they’ve collaborated with renowned producers, including Tom Dalgety and the electro duo Bad Sounds. The Family Rain’s musical evolution combines sweet melodies, muscular riffs, and electronic enhancements, creating a fresh and invigorating sound. ‘Loud & Clear’ is a testament to their forward-thinking approach and willingness to break new ground.
The Family Rain will be coming to Manchester on Saturday 2nd December to support M60 at Manchester Academy 2. Get your tickets for the show here!
