‘Running Back 2 U’, the latest track from Ten Eighty Trees’ upcoming EP. The track feels like it should be a huge rock anthem, but also I do feel like this anthem needs work to reach its full potential.
The track has a really great sense of familiarity in many ways, it’s a track that sort of makes you feel like you’ve heard it a million times before even when you’re only hearing it for the first time.
Within this song though, I feel that there are parts that just feel slightly inconsistent. For example there are areas in the verse that feel very underproduced and that could use more work; as well as parts of the chorus that feel massively overproduced and like they just need to be stripped back.
Instrumentally, however, this song is incredible and you’d be hard pressed to find anything bad to say about it musically. Everything fits perfectly in its place and it all just feels so amazingly arranged.
I’d love to hear a version of this track live as I feel like there’s a lot more that can be taken from this song, make no mistake though, this is a belter of a track.
