‘Supermarket’, The latest song from the infectious SOFY. This is a track full of grooves and beats ready made to get you out of your seat and bouncing around any room. Definitely a song for the shower!
SOFY has seen a fair amount of success in recent times amassing over 130,000 monthly listeners on Spotify at the current date. This comes after her song ‘Strawberry Milkshake’ hit well over 1 million streams.
This track begins in a slower manner and sort of feels like it’s going to be a soft-spoken ballad, but as the song goes on it is constantly building. With the addition of some drums with a lovely filter on to make them sit back in the mix and the bass, this filter is then removed from the drums to give the track its full life and bring it up to this glamorous indie pop bop.
Supermarket contains all the sensibilities of any good pop track and a really great understanding of exactly what the track needs. Everything that is needed sits in place and nothing steps over the mark. There’s a great sense of build and release within the track with the music also dropping off slightly at key moments to allow for more impact when the track hits a bit harder.
Some great work here from SOFY, a song I’m sure will be heard booming out of someone’s car the next time they need a breakup anthem to scream.
