A sumptuous collection of jangly guitar riffs and timeless-feeling vocal melodies, the latest release from the fast growing indie four piece Pentire, ‘Don’t Let Your Love (Let You Down).
Releasing their first record under a label, Pentire have become the first in a new series of single releases from Scruff of the Neck records, the renowned Manchester indie label.
‘Don’t Let Your Love (Let You Down)’ seems to be a point in the direction of the sound that the lads are going for with their new music this year. The sound feels much like it is following on from their previous work but with a bit more maturity to their sound.
Pentire are a band we at The Pentatonic have covered more and more recently; a group that are seemingly growing with every release. This latest release from the Ross-on-Wye born group is just about their catchiest yet. The level of simplicity they have achieved in their writing is almost masterful, it takes an incredibly mature musician to realise that less is more in a piece of music and that’s exactly what is on display in this release.
I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again, Pentire are a band that everyone should be keeping an eye on. A group of boys who are very much on their way to the very top.
