Divine musical arrangement in what is one of the finest recent releases I’ve heard from any band. Only The Poets, the lads from Reading, have dropped their latest single ‘Even Hell’ via EMI Records and it’s one that is sure to get stuck in the minds of many.
This latest track from the southern lads is a piece of music which just nails every aspect of what any indie pop track should be. There’s a really timeless feel to ‘Even Hell’, I’m not quite sure what it is, whether its the incredibly catchy vocals and the melody that underpins them or whether its that sparkling guitar line. There’s just something, harmonically and melodically about this track that gives it that feel of a song you’d play for years to come.
It’s really no surprise that Only The Poets are a band signed to a major label deal and a band that are selling out some of the most renowned venues in the country. They truly are establishing themselves as one of the UK’s biggest emerging artists.
The band state that this track is a love letter to music and their appreciation for the escape that it gives them. Something that in different ways I’m sure their fans and listeners will share with them and a message relatable to so many. These lads clearly have got the knack for writing a proper earworm of a track and there’s really no arguing that.
For a band that are still very much on the up, this is a track which feels like Only The Poets really reaching a point where they’re sonically very happy. Listening to a band who are making music they love like this is a real treat and I’m sure they have even more up their sleeves. A band I’ll definitely be keeping my eye on moving forwards!
