“Welcome to my blue room,” Luke Royalty’s Spotify bio reads as he proclaims thoughts we’ve all shared with him and kept to ourselves, like the light jab of, “I think I’m boring when I’m sober”.
‘Blue Peter’ feels like you’re travelling from its genuine, good-hearted lyricism alone. “Living our fairytales in football shirts,” the Darlington based songwriter sounds, reminiscing his childhood paired alongside a music video that makes you homesick from your bedroom. It’s the most personal track he’s released so far, Royalty’s authentic vocal paired with bright finger-picked acoustic guitar, lively synth and punchy beats.
Securing a well-deserved spot supporting Jake Bugg on his UK tour; across March and April. Royalty has also landed Radio 1 and AmazingRadio airplay and been tipped by BBC Introducing for 2022. ‘Blue Peter’ is the first insight we get to Luke Royalty’s future EP release, my blue room, which you can hear later this year.
