This song does, in many ways, feel like a train ride through the singers thoughts. It’s sort of rambling along with some element of a rush like the chaotic nature of catching a rush hour train as the band describe it.
‘Train’ is a heavily guitar based piece of music, so much so I’d normally have expected the guitars to just drown everything out but there’s so much clarity about this song.
You can just hear every little detail in the track. Credit where credit is due, their producer has done a brilliant job for the most part. I do however feel that there’s just too much distortion added onto the vocal. I can hear what they’re going for here but it could potentially be a more subtle effect.
Every bit as post-punky as I expected when I read the description of this song, Dick Dudley has not disappointed with this latest tune.
