Boola Roo are a London based electronic three-piece, who like many creatives met with the isolation of lockdown, threw themselves into a brand new project during that period. Their debut offering ‘Show Me Love’ is an impressively self-produced track which carries itself well structurally.
The instrumentation consists of a classic 90’s drum beat anchored by a loping bass groove. It’s topped off with a dream-like, repetitive sequencer which is nicely mixed to sit underneath the pop vocals that display melodies likened to elements of Pet Shop Boys or Blossoms.
The band describe ‘Show Me Love’ as “the first single of a new chapter” so there is plenty more to be expected from Boola Roo, who it appears are still yet to play their debut live show.
