A community of talented musicians from Warrington have come together to record a cover of Viola Beach’s single ‘Swings And Waterslides’ to pay tribute and mark the fifth anniversary since the bands tragic accident. The charity single will be released on Friday 12th February 2021.
Having had a sneaky listen to the charity single, it’s safe to say we are all in for a treat next week. It is important to celebrate the music, life and legacy of Viola Beach, 4 extremely talented lads from Warrington who were taken way too soon, their music will continued to be listened to and they will never be forgotten.
Lee Harman, Editor of [WAM] Magazine has organised this project with help from Cal Bate who is the former sound engineer for Viola Beach. They both wanted to create a suitable and respectful tribute to the band. They formed a supergroup of musicians from Warrington, including friends of Viola Beach, to record a cover of ‘Swings And Waterslides’ and all proceeds from the single’s success will be donated to charities of the Viola Beach’s families’ choosing.
The single is being released under the name Warrington Music. A music video featuring all of the artists who contributed will also be released. The full line up of contributors to the recording is as follows:
