Dee Rae, in her own words, “combines childhood folk favourites with more modern indie influence”, which is showcased in her recent debut single ‘Silver Wallet’. The track earned a great reception upon release, as it displays influence from the likes of Lily Allen or Wet Leg with half-sung, half-spoken lyricism that isn’t afraid to break into colloquial accents amidst her shimmering indie pop vocals. In the run up to the release, the Manchester singer/songwriter utilised Instagram and Tik Tok to amass her following and create anticipation for her music before it was even released. Now armed with her debut single, she is building her name on the live circuit in what is just the beginning for her promising career.
