Long White Clouds have unveiled their debut full-length studio album, ‘Aeroplanes‘. This eight-track offering is a testament to the band’s heartfelt approach, blending raw emotion with carefully honed musicianship. The album was recorded at Bergamo’s Triangolo Lab under the guidance of producers Federico Laini and Riccardo Zamboni, after the success they had with these producers on their 2020 EP.
The album’s title, ‘Aeroplanes‘ “nod to the vehicles that brought us together from the four corners of the planet, and the intangible connections that intertwine our shared experiences, emotions, and dreams, fuelling our creativity and passion” the band explain. This isolation connects with the theme of the album and makes it a powerful collection of personal songs. The album was brought to life in two intense, four-day recording sessions in February and November 2023. Despite the brevity of these sessions, Long White Clouds have been able to demonstrate the depth of their sound and the band’s confidence and mastery of their craft.
Standout tracks ‘Ask Me’ and ‘The Decider’ showcase the album’s reflective essence, blending intimate lyrics with soaring instrumentals which create a powerful juxtaposition. Meanwhile, ‘Breathing Sunlight’ takes a more playful spirit and shows the band’s lighters side with an infectious energy. Laini and Zamboni’s production is understated yet potent, ensuring the band’s organic sound remains the main element of the recording. There’s no need to over-polish on this album and the whole essence of the tracks comes the heartfelt delivery.
‘Aeroplanes’ is a passion project in the purest sense, the album reflects the band’s love for storytelling and sonic exploration. The lyrics bring the listener on their journey with ease and relatability. Long White Clouds have firmly planted their flag in the musical landscape with this album, signalling their statement of intent.
