Dakota Avenue are a 3 piece band made up of frontman ‘Jacob Greenhalgh-Lee’, bassist ‘Andy Wynn’ & drummer ‘Frank Harris’. They are based in Manchester and have played shows in venues all over the city including a recent show at the iconic Band On The Wall, they supported Sly Antics at The Star And Garter back in December. They have also played many other Manchester venues including Night & Day Cafe, Aatma, Jimmy’s, they even played at The Ruby Lounge for Dot To Dot Festival! It’s safe to say Dakota Avenue have had a very busy year or so!

This Thursday Dakota Avenue play their biggest Manchester headline show to date at Night People to celebrate the launch of their 3rd single ‘Getintheshower’ which is now available on all major streaming services!

We managed to have a quick chat with lead singer Jacob to ask him a few questions about the upcoming single launch gig, here is what he had to say;

How are you and the rest of the band feeling about playing Night People this week?

Absolutely buzzing, m’titties off like – I’m very nervous! It’s always a big pressure putting your own shows on and I just hope people enjoy themselves! But, we’ll make sure they do somehow, haha! We’re also looking forward to the supports, they’re all lovely and all fab!

The response for your new single has been insane, has it given you a confidence boost for the gig?

Aw, well definitely! I feel I enjoy gigs more if I know the songs and the lyrics – so, I’ll make them sing along with me if I have to – aha. We’ve had incredibly overwhelming support from everyone for this single and I’m excited to celebrate that with everyone.

Do you have any surprises up your sleeve for Thursday?

MERCH! We’ve waited for merchandise for YEARS – it’s a small limited run for ‘Getintheshower’. We also have a KICK DRUM STICKER! Aren’t we moving up, eh? Haha! We’re live-streaming the show to Instagram and Facebook and in terms of the set itself, I guess we’ll have to find out on Thursday 😉

Dakota Avenue will be joined by special guests Belvoir Hill, Hamish Music & Albino Gorilla. Tickets are still available so make sure you get down to what will be a special night for Dakota Avenue!
