Bon Iver have cancelled every date on their European tour due to “personal reasons”, and everything is just completely awful.

At long last, European fans of the Justin Vernon-fronted project were finally going to be privy to the sweet sounds of his new and old material, but alas, it was not to be.

The excitement surrounding the fairly rare dates were clear to see, as when tickets went on sale they sold out almost immediately. Quicker than their fans could reach for their mother’s purse.

But of course it was all a bit too sweet to be believable, as Bon Iver announced the cancelling of the fabled dates last night.

The statement on Twitter read:

“For personal reasons, Bon Iver has cancelled its forthcoming European tour set to begin in Paris on January 22, 2017 and end in London on February 20, 2017 in addition to Justin Vernon’s scheduled appearance on a Prairie Home Companion on January 14 2017.

“All tickets for the European tour will be refunded at point of purchase and none of the missed tour dates will be rescheduled at this time.

“Our deepest apologies to all our fans. We will be back.”

Hopefully Justin Vernon and co are okay.
